Working Smarter, Not Harder: Ways To Increase Revenue Without
Working Longer Hours (Everyone):
Suggestions included hot towels; gift certificates; retail items for sale-gels, lotions, massage
tools-be aware of what your clients are interested in so you may have those items for sale; get
a massage intern to work in your business from a nearby massage school-offer
your clients a reduced rate perhaps during non-peak season or business hours.>
What's Happening With The Massage Licensure Legislation? (Dr Leena)
Chiropractors and medical professionals are supporting the licensure
legislation;
Physical Therapists do NOT want massage therapists using the term
"therapy" so as not to encroach on their business among other concerns;
Will need an effort by EVERYONE at EVERY opportunity to promote the licensure bill;
Pennsylvania massage therapists have been trying for 14 years to get our profession licensed;
The bill will be reintroduced in Jan '07 with a new number.
Periodically check the AMTAMASSAGE.ORG website for updates regarding where the bill stands.
Expectations For This Chapter In The Coming Year?
CEC's (Continuing Education Credits) or CEU's (Continuing Education
Units) will be incorporated into the PA Chapter of AMTA's meetings.
